Winter Book Fair - Hats Off to Reading!

The Winter Book Fair is right around the corner!  Plan NOW to attend Castle Rock Elementary's Scholastic Book Fair, beginning Monday, December 13, 2010.

The Book Fair is a wonderful time to explore affordable books and products with your children.  Plus, a portion of the sales benefits our school directly, so this is also a perfect opportunity to buy those holiday gifts and support Castle Rock at the same time.

Thanks to the generosity of Castle Rock students, families, and faculty, the Fall Book Fair generated $2,095.  Our goal for the Winter Book Fair is to generate another $2,000!

If you are interested in volunteering to work at the Book Fair, please contact Paula Emanuele at paemanuele@gmail.com.

Book Fair Hours:

12/13     8am-3pm
12/14     8am-3pm
12/15     8am-3pm
             & 6pm-8pm
12/16     8am-3pm

Can't wait to see you there!

Thank you for shopping at Fresh&Easy Night

We appreciate your continued support of the Community Club in its efforts to raise funds for our school.  Special thanks to our wonderful parents for volunteering to bag groceries and collect receipts.

No eggs were cracked while they were on duty.

Take Charge of Education with Target!

We've discovered a terrific way to raise funds for our school. It's super-easy, and all you have to do is use your Target® Visa® Credit or Debit Card (the REDcard).

Each time you use the card, Castle Rock will receive a percentage of the amount of each purchase in the form of a cash donation from Target through the Take Charge of Education® program.  As a bonus, YOU will receive 5% off your entire purchase.

It's easy. Just visit target.com/tcoe, or call 1-800-316-6142 to apply for a card and designate Castle Rock as your school.  If you already have a Target® Visa® Credit or Debit Card, you can still go to the site or call and designate Castle Rock as your school.

So, if you're going to Target anyway, please consider using your Target® Visa® Credit or Debit Card.  Grandparents, alumni, neighbors and friends can take part, too.

So far, Castle Rock has received almost $6000 from this program.  There are already 21 Castle Rock families participating.  Sign up today!

Castle Rock Elementary School Launches 2010-11 Box Tops Fundraiser

Castle Rock Elementary School proudly announces the launch of its 2010-2011 Box Tops for Education fundraising campaign. This year the school has set a goal of earning $750 through Box Tops to purchase playground equipment and classroom toys for rainy days.  Last year, our school earned $656.

”Box Tops for Education” is a school fundraising program started by General Mills in 1996. To date, Box Tops has helped America’s schools raise over $300 million to buy things they need but can’t always afford, such as art supplies, rainy day recess games, PE / sports equipment.

School supporters can earn cash for their favorite school with Box Tops through everyday activities such as buying groceries, shopping online and buying books. Schools can earn a total of up to $80,000 each year.

Here are two ways you can help:

Clip Box Tops from hundreds of favorite products and send them to Mirela Golonka, Box Tops Coordinator, at Castle Rock Elementary School, 2975 Castle Rock Road, Diamond Bar, CA 91765.  For every 30 un-expired boxtops turned into the school, you get 1 Smencil!

Sign up to help Castle Rock Elementary School on the Box Tops website at btfe.com and then
•          Shop online: Castle Rock Elementary will earn up to 15% of qualifying purchases when you shop at over 100 popular online stores at the Box Tops Marketplace®.
•          Buy books: Castle Rock Elementary School will earn up to 6% of purchases made online at Barnes & Noble through the Box Tops Reading RoomSM

For more information, visit btfe.com or contact Mirela Golonka, Castle Rock Elementary Box Tops Coordinator, at CastleRock.BoxTops@gmail.com.
