Principal Report
  • May 9th 9am Peace Pole Dedication in the Quad
  • Common Core- meeting w/each grade level to talk about it.
  • SBAC (online testing) is taking place of the STAR testing. In a couple of years it will all be switched over- 40,000 questions in the test bank
  • Common Core will be nationwide


Treasure Report
  • $68k in the bank

 President
  • Attended the World Café (District Board Meeting) they talked about Common Core, CTE, Technology , Dual Emersion and how these 4 things will be affecting the district and how the district will be implementing them into the schools and they want feedback on it.

 Knights on the Run
  • Pizza lunch for KOTR will be May 17th. The lunch will be served during all regular scheduled lunch times to those students who earned that prize tier.
  • Prize distribution is scheduled for May 20th

  • We are not going to be a pilot for the new testing next year.

  • Just doing 2 book fairs a school year is better for us financially

  • Budget Meeting is set for May 16th
  • Several Board Positions are still open
Knights on the Run

Principal Report
  • 1st STAR test next week (4th grade writing test)
  • New Family Tours went well. Lots of new families 
  • The lock down drill went great. It took just 2 minutes for 1st-3rd graders to find a safe place to be during their lunch. There will be another soon to have to upper grades out at recess or lunch this time. 
  • Furlough days are coming March 15 and April 8 
  • Common Cores are coming, based off the IB planners. We are ahead of the schedule because we are already an IB school. 
  • STAR testing will be new next year. All online. A lot of writing and process questions (need to look @ computer lab & figure out our situation to be ready for testing)
Treasure Report
  • About 55K in the bank
Tile Mosaic
  • Went great. Installation will be March 11th. 
  • Unveiling will be March 21st before the volunteer luncheon.
Knights on the Run
  • Shirts are being ordered. Will have pre sale order form for teachers soon. 
Yearbook
  • Going well. Lots of preorders so far. 
Book fair
  • Coming next week. 
  • Come out and help!!!! 
End of Year Fundraising
  • Looking for one more dining out 
  • See’s candy fundraiser will not be able to be done this year with KOTR right before Easter this year. 
Open Floor
  • EVERYONE HAS TO HAVE A LEVEL 2 VOLUNTEER FORM. No exceptions. 
  • March 13th is a parent education night 6:30-7:30pm @ Castle Rock. It will help parents with time management and homework strategies, so parents can help their students.

  • New kinder class is going well. 
  • San Juan Cap. Teachers came to our school to see the IB program in action. 
  • DBHA football players will be returning this year to help the kids with reading. 

Treasure Report
  • Received a check from Box Tops for $1045 
  • About $50k in the account. 

Tile Mosaic
  • Painting day is this Friday and there will be some recess painting times. 

Knights on the Run
  • Date changed to 3/22 
  • Changing the prize tier to 4 items only 
  • Prizes will be: medal, t-shirt, sweatshirt, and tickets 

Yearbook
  • Class pages need to be turned in by mid March at the latest. 

5th Grade Picnic
  • Still looking for ways to make money 

Future CRCC Meetings
  • Tonight was our last evening meeting. 
  • All remainder of meetings will be on Friday mornings.

Principal Report
  • 167 volunteers cleared (level 2)
  • Make sure parents have turned their volunteer forms, had a TB, and are cleared to volunteer before they come to school to volunteer
  • Jan. 19th is a staff development day and staff will be meeting with CJ Morris to work on/ go over the IB program
  • School events are in full swing


Treasure Report
  • Anonymous donations were made to CRCC in the amount of $1000 and $150.
  • We are waiting to see if the $5 a person increase to field trips is helping cover transportation costs.
  • Net Income $387.30  Amount in the bank $49,808.82


5th Grade Picnic
  • Looking for more ways to create more income
  • Looking at changing the date if furlough days are incurred at the end of the school year.


Tile Mosaic
  • 200 tile minimum, flyers are going out to reserve/pre-order tiles
  • 1/31 in service/training day 3-4pm
  • 2/8 painting day 3-6pm
  • CRCC will be purchasing 9 tiles to paint


Knights on the Run
  • Date changed to 3/22

Yearbook
  • Will be 80-90 pages this year
  • We have to design all pages
  • Cantrell has a website for us to use to create the pages
  • Possible yearbook meeting to use Tech Lab and create yearbook pages


Open Floor
  • Jump Rope for Heart is Feb 7th
  • Teacher Allocations: Mrs. Gordon will be getting $130 for allocations to help setup her new kinder class
  • We need 2 more dining outs before the end of the school year

Thank you from Mrs. Yee’s class for Family Fun Night.

Principal Report: Mrs. Sullivan:
- IB awards assemblies will be divided into 3 separate assemblies. K & 1st, 2nd & 3rd, and 4th & 5th. The assemblies will be shorter for students and parents.
- Hearing testing is finished.
- Mrs. Sullivan is devoting 2 days a week to “Campus Days”. She will be on campus and in classrooms. CJ is helping reorganize her schedule.
- TK & K winter program is coming up.
- Mrs. Sullivan requests a several day notice for ED Connect phone calls and asks that we have written out what we would like her to relay in the phone call.

Treasure Report: Tani
- Net Income for the period is -$464.66.
- Amount in the bank is $49,579.76.
- Pamela Jong has applied for several grants and we have received one in the amount of $500 from Diamond Bar Community Foundation. That money has to be used for our arts program (Meet the Masters)

Tile Mosaic:
- Tentative date for painting is Feb. 8th
- Presale for the tiles will be right after the holiday break.
- In service will be 1/31/13 @3pm
- At the in service we will need to do a 50% deposit for the tiles

Fresh and Easy:
- Was unfortunately canceled but we are still collecting receipts until Dec. 31, 2012

Principal Report: Mrs. Sullivan:
- Parent conferences are going great
- Not giving a lot of discipline this year
- We have a new intervention teacher starting the next week. Mrs. Lai will meet with teachers next week and begin meeting with students as soon as Nov. 19th. Students K-5th will be able to have help this year.
- Family Fun Night was amazing. Can’t say enough about CRCC

Treasure Report: Rowena
- Net Income for the period is $19,374.04. Chili’s Dining Out/Tip A Teacher brought in $1,100 in tips and $360 in food purchases.

Fall Harvest Festival
- Made roughly $6,522
- $180 in credit card sales (first time using credit card machines)
- We have not paid the fees yet

Tile Mosaic
- Tentative date for painting is Feb. 8th
- Company will do an in-service date before Feb. 8th to teach CRCC, staff, and volunteers how to help paint the tiles and prep them.
- All dates will hopefully be verified by next meeting.

Mixed Bags
- $3,563.77 is our profit after we pay taxes
- 3 top winners will get prizes

Educational Fund
- Apples are being ordered this week and should be up before holiday break.

Dining Out-
- Possibly another Tip A Teacher in the spring??
- Possibly a Chick-fil-a dining night out

Box Tops
- $1,047.47 check is pending and should be received by holiday break. Keep sending those box tops in.

Open Floor
- Per bylaws every time money is counted there has to be a CRCC board member present. There are 5 board members (Tani Ross, Mirela Golonka, Cindy Yee, Christina Munoz, and Rowena Joe). This goes for all fundraisers. If you have any questions please feel free to ask any one of the CRCC board members.
- Family Fun Night: keeping it in the fall, looking to push the date up to mid Oct. Went well w/food, looking to charge a small entry fee again next year, thinking about putting a survey together to get info about FFN. Having feedback to make next year better.
- Assistant Room Parents will be included in the room parents emails and updates.
- Educational Fund Drive letter stated that less fundraisers if we raise enough money. Are we going to do less? As of right now we are already doing less Dining Out events. The letter was more informative. We will after the first of the year look at less fundraisers. But we will keep Knights on the Run in the spring.
- City Flyers will now be available on CRCC’s website as well as Castle Rock’s website.

Principal Report: Mrs. Sullivan:
- Good Bye at the gate went well no issues
- District staff (Dr Conklin, J. Brown, and a couple of others) will be visiting all schools in the district to see how things are going.
- TK: Mrs. Carren is doing such a great job with the kids
- IB: parent night next thurs. Teachers are being constantly trained for the IB program.
- The school would like to have a Peace Pole put on the grounds that would symbolize the IB Program. (need a CRCC board vote for donation)


Treasure Report: Rowena
- Net Income for the period is $15,508.03. This includes Educational Fund Drive $20,560.00

Mrs. Rodgers:
- Nothing to report at this time.

Yearbook: Rowena
- Considering a new vendor for yearbook this year.
- Cantrell- no minimum amount of books to be orders and we will be doing pre orders only.

Disaster Kits: Tani
- Need final information from some of the teachers still. We will be moving the meal bars into the CRCC room inside the MPR within the next few weeks.

Fall Harvest Festival
- Coming along
- Mrs. Sullivan agreed to principal for the day and marquee happy birthday messages for the auction.

Tile Mosaic
- District has approved the fund raiser. YAY
- We will be selling 6”x6” tiles (price TBD)
- Need to setup a date for this to be done.
  
Educational Fund
- All envelopes need to be in by Friday.
- We did well.

Popsicle Sales
- Sales are going good so far.
- We need volunteers to help sell!!!

Good Morning and welcome to a new school year. We have a lot to talk about so let’s get started.

Correspondence:
- Note from Mrs. Roddy thanking CRCC for setting up, running, and taking down the Book Fair and for the$20 gift to each teacher.
- A letter from Peggy Vera, letting CRCC know that she will no longer be the IB coordinator and thank us for all our hard work and help with the IB program.

Principal Report: Mrs. Sullivan:
- Excited about a new school year and everything is going good so far.
- Current student enrollment up to 575 kids (that includes TK)
- Back to School Night went great
- Parent Volunteer Apps are being turned in and looking great. Other schools are asking for advice in encouraging their parents to turn in the apps.
- API test score dropped 10pts. The teachers are looking @ tools to fix and figure out what happened.  And what can the teachers and staff do to help motivate to kids to make it better.

Treasure Report: Rowena
- Net Income for the period is -$3,744.47. This includes book fair $1,790.70, spirit wear $843.00, field trips -$986.50, copier contract -$1,900.00
- Yearbook took a loss of -$2,054

Disaster Kits: Tani Ross
- Meal Bars expire 8/13 and water expires 2016
- Waiting for teachers to report if they need anything for their first aid kits in the class
- Proposed the idea that parents put together their own child’s disaster kit with food and water.
- Tani will look into storage possibilities on campus and how other schools in the district and surrounding cities handle it.

Room Parent: Esther Do and Mirela Golonka
- Meet and Greet and info meeting set for Sept. 27 9am in the Music Room

- Ed letters will be put on the site and will also be on the site in Mandarin, Korean, and Spanish.
- Looking for ideas to make site more user friendly
- Board members please subscribe to email updates about the site

Fall Harvest: Tina Arciga and Pamela Jong
- Date set for Nov. 2
- HELP WANTED
- There will be craft tables and games
- No admission charge this year
- We will be selling our own food this year. No food trucks

Yearbook- Tina Arciga and Pamela Jong
- Meeting with new company about year book next week for pricing and ideas
- Pictures that are submitted for the yearbook have to be turned in on a CD

Dining Out- Patricia Suazo
- Talking with Mrs. Sullivan and teachers to hopefully get a Oct. Chili’s tip the date.
- Possibly offering teachers a gift card to target, Michael’s, school supply store, for helping out at Chili’s

Fundraisers- Cindy Yee and Tani Ross
- Mixed Bags tentative sale date is Oct 12-Oct 26
- Budget for samples of $200

- Field Trip fee increase of $5 per student per field trip on top of original cost. To help offset the cost of transportation
- Volunteer Apps: 60 turned in keep up the good work
- Meeting date change 11/2 will now be on 11/9

- First weeks of school were calm and went smoothly with a positive start. THANK YOU

- IB PYP for TK $125 proposed- APPROVED

- Mrs. Amsell’s allocations proposed to go from $50 to $100 (she hasn’t submitted for allocations in a couple of years) her allocations went from $100 to $50 this past budget meeting. Proposed to up her allocations back to $100- APPROVED
